Learn How to Buy Penny Stocks With Ease

Are you interested in trading penny stocks but aren't sure how to get started? The first thing is to learn a bit about these type of stocks and how to go about purchasing them.

Penny stocks, as defined by the SEC, are stocks that are less than $5 per stock, per share, although they are usually less than $1 in cost. These are not traded on the NASDAQ or NYSE, but are instead traded over the counter using quote services.

Hundreds of millions of dollars are traded per day in penny stocks. People enjoy the low cost of these stocks and also the ability, although rare, to make a killing on a small company who winds up making it big. If you buy the right stock at the right time, you could make a lot of money.

Before getting involved in the purchase of penny stocks, you need to make a significant deposit into a brokerage account. It is best, prior to getting started, to save up a bit of money so that you have an adequate balance in your brokerage account, so you don't have to worry prior to buying and selling stocks, and can make trades at any time when you feel like it is necessary without waiting on funds to be moved from your bank into your brokerage account.

There are two primary ways to trade penny stocks: by using an online site designed to help you trade your stocks, and by using an investment advisor to manage your brokerage account on your behalf. Both have positives and negatives associates with them. Obviously, if you are new to trading, it would be a plus to have a licensed, experienced investments advisor to help you make decisions.

It is measured that potentially up to 50% of these types of stocks are actually fraudulent and are investment schemes. Often, these are the ones advertised online as hot stock picks. An investment advisor can help you filter through the fraudulent information to make good investment decisions. On the other hand, by trading yourself online, you will save a bit of money because you will not have to pay the advisors commission percentage.

Buying penny stocks can be a rewarding and fun way to make money if you do it correctly. It is important to do your research prior to getting started to make sure your experience trading penny stocks is financially rewarding.
